Mary Walcott was the seventeen year-old daughter of Captain Jonathon Walcott and stepdaughter of his second wife, Deliverance, Ann Putnam Jr.'s aunt. She joined the ranks of the accusers in Mid-March, when she visited Deodat Lawson at Ingersoll's Tavern and showed him bite marks on her wrist. Reportedly, she said they had been caused by a witch, although she could not give her tormentor a name. During the trials Mary, her brother Jonathon, and her father seem to have practiced deliberate fraud.
